We envision a future where every person has access to safe and affordable housing, fostering stronger communities built on trust and collaboration.
Our Mission
The mission of IHI is guided by shared faith principles that call on us to love our neighbor as we bring faith communities/congregations together to learn, connect, collaborate, advocate for, and provide affordable housing for those who are experiencing homelessness or living in temporary housing.
At the heart of our mission is a commitment to ensuring everyone has a place they can call home. We strive to unite diverse faith communities in a shared vision to tackle the affordable housing crisis. Our values center around dignity and respect for each individual, driving us to work together towards sustainable solutions that uplift families and empower neighborhoods.
IHI was founded in 2023. A group of local faith leaders came together to discuss what faith communities could do to help address the housing crisis in Greensboro.
IHI is currently a network of approximately 45 churches, faith communities, and organizations working together to maximize affordable housing in the larger Greensboro area. In March 2025, IHI received its 501(c)(3) non-profit status.
IHI has collaborated with and made donations to Guilford County Schools Homeless Support Services, The Pathways Center, YWCA, and Greensboro Urban Ministries Winter Emergency Shelter program.
IHI has been blessed with an opportunity to collaborate with Partnership Homes, Inc., to get experience in building affordable housing. IHI will be able to get experience and learn from this collaboration to prepare the organization for future building projects.
Pursue opportunities for the IAHI to spearhead or collaborate on affordable housing development projects within our community.
Identify opportunities for congregations to assist families in securing or preserving stable, affordable housing.
Provide ongoing updates to participating congregations about ways to participate in advocacy efforts targeting city government, community members, and other allies to increase local affordable housing.

Recognizing the value and dignity of every person as a child of God.
Accepting the responsibility of the larger community to ensure that everyone in our community has access to safe, affordable housing.
Working in partnership with fellow faith communities, congregations, non-profits, neighborhood associations, foundations, staff and elected leaders of our government, businesses and other organizations in the private sector.
